The NSERC is another great opportunity to gain research experience. It is exclusively for students in natural sciences and engineering and only offered for the summer (May to August). Since this award is offered at a national level, it is highly competitive. Successful applicants receive 7500$ and must be supported by a faculty research mentor. The application deadline for the NSERC is Jan 29.
If a successful applicant is doing a project in atmospheric or meteorological sciences, they get a supplemental 1000$ from the Environment Canada Atmospheric Meteorological Undergraduate Supplements.
Unfortunately, these awards are not open to international students.
